This paper introduces a solution about underground cable fault location that belongs to the family of the pinpointing methods using audio-frequency generator and magnetic field detector . In addition to the ability to locate underground cable fault, the method of audio-frequency generator and magnetic field detector can detect underground cable routing and measure cable burial depth. This paper also introduces the design and manufacture of audio-frequency generator, magnetic field detector of the author. Devices were tested by electromechanical workshop of Lam Dong Electricity corporation and demonstrated the devices completely usable.
